1. What is Veilo?

Veilo is a privacy-first vault app that lets you hide, secure, and manage sensitive photos, videos, and files on your mobile device. Even if someone forces you to open the app, your real content stays hidden behind multiple layers of protection.

2. Getting Started

First launch

1. Download the app from the App Store or Google Play.
2. Swipe through the welcome screens to learn how the vault works.
3. Create an account with your email and password.
4. Set up your PIN — choose a 4–6 digit PIN that unlocks your real vault.
5. Save your recovery phrase — 6 words shown once. Write them down and keep them safe.
6. Enable Face ID or fingerprint (optional) for faster unlocking.

Importing your first photos

1. Tap the + button or the camera icon in the header.
2. Choose Gallery, Camera, or Files.
3. Optionally turn on "Delete from gallery after import" to remove the originals from your camera roll.
4. Files upload securely to your private vault.

Veilo protects your content with multiple independent layers.

Primary PIN

A 4–6 digit PIN that unlocks your real vault. Your PIN is never stored in plain text.

Biometric unlock

Use Face ID or fingerprint for faster access. You'll still need your PIN after a device restart.

Auto-lock (Pro)

Automatically locks the vault when you switch apps — choose Immediate, 30 seconds, 1 minute, or 5 minutes.

Screenshot prevention

Blocks screenshots and screen recordings inside the vault and warns you when one is attempted. On by default.

Break-in alerts (Pro)

After 3 wrong PIN attempts, Veilo silently captures a front-camera photo and timestamps it. View the log any time.

Decoy vault (Pro Max)

A separate PIN that opens a vault with innocent nature photos instead of your real content. Perfect if someone ever forces you to unlock the app.

Fake crash mode (Pro Max)

A third PIN shows a realistic system-crash screen. Tap the logo 5 times in a row to quietly exit.

Recovery phrase

6 random words shown once during setup. Keep them safe — they let you reset your PIN if you forget it.

Recovery email

An optional backup email. Use it to receive a 6-digit reset code (valid for 30 minutes).

4. Subscription Plans

Yearly plans save you about 33% compared to monthly. You can restore previous purchases any time from the paywall screen.

5. Managing Your Files

Importing

You can add content from your photo gallery, the camera, or files & documents. Veilo supports photos, videos, PDFs, and most file types.

Supported file types

Veilo accepts the following media and document formats (up to 1 GB per file):

Uploads

Files upload one at a time with a progress bar. A green checkmark means success; a red bar means a retry is needed.

Favorites

Tap the star icon on any item to mark it as a favorite for quick access.

Search

Filter your vault in real time using the search bar in the header.

Tags

Add custom tags to any item to organize and find your content faster.

Bulk select & share

Long-press an item to enter selection mode, then select multiple items to move, delete, or share them in one action.

Albums

Group items into color-coded albums. Free includes 1 album; Pro and Pro Max include unlimited albums.

Trash

Deleted files stay in the Trash for 30 days, then are removed automatically. Restoring items from the Trash is a Pro feature; on the Free plan you can empty the Trash at any time.

Video player

Tap any video for full native controls — fullscreen and picture-in-picture included.

Quick Capture

Tap the camera icon in the vault header to snap a photo straight into the vault.

6. Themes & Languages

Themes

Languages

Veilo is available in Arabic (right-to-left) and English (left-to-right). The app auto-switches based on your device settings.

7. Troubleshooting

Can't import from gallery

Fix: Open your device Settings → Veilo → Photos → grant full photo access.

Biometric unlock not working

Fix: Make sure Face ID or fingerprint is enrolled on your device, then re-enable biometric unlock in Settings.

Screenshots are still possible

Fix: Open Settings → Screenshot Prevention and turn it on.

Storage shows oddly for a moment

Fix: Your storage usage takes a second or two to load — it will resolve automatically.

Paywall won't open

Fix: Check that you're connected to the internet, then try again. If it persists, contact us below.

8. Recovering Your Vault

If you forget your PIN:

1. On the lock screen, tap "Forgot PIN?"
2. Choose Recovery Phrase (your 6 words) or Recovery Email (we send you a 6-digit code)
3. Set a new PIN

Important: If you lose both your recovery phrase and recovery email, your vault cannot be recovered. Keep at least one safe.
